Some of these people were at a wedding with six Brind guests

Brind Family Woolwich November 03 (which was probably when the message was posted)

"My father William John Brind born 1910 worked in the Royal Arsenal for many years.

His father Nathaniel 1864 had a stall on The Square as Woolwich market was called, his father Henry Brind 1827 was an iron turner. Can anyone go further back please?"

Woolwich and Plumstead are pretty close. I wonder if there is a connection with your Sueanne Brind?

26 December 2004
It may be Christmas but I had a little bit of excitement yesterday and want to share it with you Henry and I went to Palmerston North to my niece and her husband. They wanted a Family 'do' to welcome home their son - returned after three years teaching in Taiwan He was accompanied by his girl friend, Natalie - a Canadian. Natalie's parents had come out for the Festives here and to escape their winter (Toronto). Her Mum is Sueanne (nee Brind) and her Dad John de Francesco. It's the Brind that caused a bit of a shriek of surprise! A very pleasant couple, Natalie their only child. Sueanne knew very little about her father's background but said he ran away to sea at 15 and settled in Canada. Some names were familiar enough for me to ask her to unearth any papers she may have and she said she would when they returned home to Toronto. This is what I have so far-

Henry Thomas Brind had 3 sons
a) Peter Frederick Brind born 1925 died (I forgot to ask!) father of Sueanne, served in the Merchant Marine (UK?)
b) Thomas Henry Brind - died quite recently in 2003 in London, Ontario, Canada,
Thomas married Violet Partridge and when she died her ashes were taken back to the UK to be buried at Plumstead. Both Thomas and Violet had UK pensions and Thomas had served in WW2 in Lancaster bombers.
c) Ronald who died young of Leukaemia

Sueanne is such a nice person and said she would dearly love to know more about her Brind ancestor! I suppose she and her husband John would be mid-late '50s. In my excitement I did not perhaps ask enough questions, but at a Christmas lunch party it is not always easy to summon your (limited) brainpower
