Funeral of Mr W M Brind


Amidst many manifestation of the respect in which he was held -- places of business were shuttered in different parts of the town-- the funeral took place on Thusday afternoon of Mr W M Brind aged 62 years, who was for 24 years the resident manager of the corn and ocoal business of Mr George Mattinglay, King-street, Maidenhead. Mr Brind passsed to his rest on the 11th inst at the local hospital. The burial service taken by the Rev C H Clissold (Vicar of St Mary's) was in the cemetery chapel, and the internment was at the cemetery. The mourners were Mrs Bind (widow) , Sons Dennis and Wallace H Brind (sons), the Misses Elizabeth and Louisa Brind and Mrs F Morris (sisters), also Miss Jessie Frith (an old friend).
Those also attending included Mr and Mrs George Mattingley and the staff: the Misses Boopman, Malsey, Perrin and Singer and Messrs Blick, Bradley, Castle M Duncan, T ?????? Gurney, Halliday, Haynes, James, Silver, Tegg, Thompson and Winsfield; an many of those who sent beautfiul floral tributes incluing Mrs C Bird, Mrs Frank Coward , Mrs W G Parsons, Miss P Wise, Mr and Mrs George Clark, Mr and Mrs ????????????????????????????????????? and the Rev Eric Nash. The inscription on the casket containing the remains of the deceased was "William Montague Brind, died 9th November 1931 aged 63"

Floral tributes were sent as follows ?? Widow "To darling Will with love from Dolly" : "Thy will is done" : ??? "From Dennis and Wallace with great gratitude" :his sorrowing sisters Lizzie, Louie and Annie : his sorrowing sister and brother in law Millie and Ted : Nellie and Fred in affectionate love and remembrance of dear old Willie: Frank and Eve with eepest sympathy, and from Jess with deepest sympathy, from Mr and Mrs Mattinglay ?????????????????

The funeral arrangements were well-carried out by Messrs G Hooper and Son, King-street, Maidenhead.
